Before - During - After

How to get the most out of every session.

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Most people do not drink enough water to begin with and now that you are using an infrared sauna and sweating, it is even more important to stay properly hydrated. Always drink plenty of water before, during and after your sauna session.

  • Avoid drinking coffee, soft drinks, juice overloaded with sugar or alcohol.

  • Remove all make up to allow your skin to receive and experience full benefits of the IR heat.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • We recommend swimsuit or underwear along with the use of the bamboo wraps we provide. More skin exposure is certainly preferable as it allows better flow of the infrared through.

  • We recommend bringing clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session.

DURING YOUR SESSION

  • You may not sweat much during your first 2-3 sauna sessions. This is normal for many people, as they haven’t had a recent history of sweating, and it takes a few sessions to “retrain” the body to do what comes naturally.

  • Take care not to overheat during your first few sessions. As the body continues to adjust, sweating can increase dramatically and body temperature regulation becomes more effective.

  • If the sauna cabin becomes too hot or stuffy, you may open the door to let some fresh air inside.

  • Drink water provided as needed.

Stretching your arms, legs and back area during your session creates more body flexibility.

  • Massage congested and “knotty” muscle areas to help alleviate pain.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

  • Hydrate again.  Make sure you drink plenty of water after your session to replenish what has been lost during your heat therapy/sweat sesh!

  • When you get home from your sauna session it is great to take a warm shower to wash off the toxins that are now on the outside of your skin. Many find that a cool shower rinse after a warm shower invigorates them and their skin.  So enjoy a good shower followed by a cool rinse.  This will also close up the pores. When showering, avoid chemical laden soaps and heavy lotions.  Your pores are open wide immediately after a sauna and you want to avoid clogging them.

  • Some users find the session will relax them, preparing them for a good nights sleep and they enjoy the sauna in the evening.  Others are invigorated by the session and like to enjoy the renewed energy hours before bed.  You will learn quickly what time of day you enjoy the best.
